Barren Wasteland and Spiritual Growth - Painting

I do hope my stories of miraculous healings, and how they came about, plus some metaphysical meanderings as well as my daily life, will fill your days with hope, healing, creativity and the Great Mystery
Cheers, CMW
Australia`s beautiful richly clad Outback takes your breath away whilst it serves up much wisdom, and spiritual growth, for those that are open to expansion of the soul. The silence and vastness encourages contemplation and the possibility of inner work as well as clarity about the future.

                                              Over barren wasteland
                                              Rocky terrain
                                              Aware of the journey
                                              Growth becomes you

Aware of the Journey

I was inspired to paint this painting after much journeying around Central Australia as well as within myself!
In 1998 I had been diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer and given only a few weeks to live. When I painted this painting I was running a Quality of Life Resource Centre in Far North Queensland and had a lot to do with the suffering and sickness of many people.
There is always a positive in everything that we experience, it`s just sometimes very difficult to see the 'light' in amongst the darkness, or should I say barren and emotional state. Fear is a killer!!

Lighten up your day with knowingness
And darkness cannot interfere with play

Whilst traveling over barren, and rocky, emotional ground if we were to view from an unattached perspective we would be able to see that there is growth (the trees in the painting = growth ahead) right there in front of us; yes, spiritual growth. Suffering and hardship somehow leads us to look at a bigger picture and therefore attain more peace and true aliveness within each moment. Whilst things may look, and feel, grim why not turn the negative into a positive and use the time on your hands to go within?

Here`s to new growth
Cheers  CMW
